Mizoram Government Encourages Traditional Mizo Attire for Mim Kut

Aizawl, 26 Sept (Zoram News): Mizoram Government has called upon all state government employees to proudly don traditional Mizo attire as they commemorate Mim Kut this year.

General Administration Department, operating under the Government of Mizoram, has issued an office memorandum, extending an earnest appeal to all state government employees to participate in the event by adorning traditional Mizo clothing.

The State Level Steering Committee overseeing the Mim Kut celebration has made the decision to rekindle the significance of this age-old Mizo festival. In the past, Mim Kut was observed not as a festive occasion filled with revelry, but rather as a solemn tribute to honor departed loved ones and to wish their souls a peaceful journey into the afterlife.

'Mim Kut, 2023' marks the beginning of what the State Level Committee hopes will become an annual tradition, fostering a deeper connection with Mizoram's rich cultural heritage in the years to come."
