Triplets born in Civil Hospial Aizawl

Aizawl, 6 June (Zoram News): Lalsangpuii, a resident of Zonuam village in Aizawl, Mamit District, gave birth to triplets at the Civil Hospital in Aizawl on Thursday.

The babies, weighing 1,200 kg, 1.250 kg, and 1,600 kg respectively, are in good health. Among the triplets, there are two boys and one girl. Before giving birth to the triplets, Lalsangpuii already had two children.

According to the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, triplets are much less common than twins, accounting for only about 4,300 sets in 3.9 million births, which is slightly over 0.1% or 1 in 1,000. In India, the rate of triplet births is about one per 10,000, which is higher than the normal occurrence.
