86% of Rural Households Provided with Tap Water Connections in Mizoram

Aizawl, 3 June (Zoram News): Deputy Chief Minister Pu Tawnluia, announced on Friday that 86% of rural households in the state have now been equipped with tap water connections as part of the Jal Jeevan Mission initiated by the central government.

According to Tawnluia, out of the total 1.33 lakh rural households in Mizoram, 1.14 lakh households have already benefited from this initiative.

Furthermore, the deputy chief minister highlighted that 2,013 out of 2,168 schools and 1,526 out of 1,583 Anganwadi centers have also received tap water connections.

He further disclosed that the state government has set a target to provide tap water connections to an additional 22,485 rural households this year. As of now, 4,318 households have already been covered under this ongoing endeavor.

The successful implementation of the Jal Jeevan Mission in Mizoram is a significant step towards ensuring access to clean and safe drinking water for rural communities, bringing about positive changes in their lives.
