Integrated Laboratory and Pediatric ICU dedicated at Lunglei

Aizawl, 26 Feb (Zoram News):  Health and Family Welfare Minister Dr R Lalthangliana dedicated the Integrated Laboratory and 12-bed Pediatric ICU at Civil Hospital in Lunglei yestrday.

Dr R Lalthangliana thanks that the Integrated Laboratory and Pediatric ICU, which is one of the two important projects for the health and well-being of the people have been successfully completed  and thanks to those who contribute for this project.

The project includes building construction, water supply, pipe line rehabilitation, LT Line shifting, site development and underground tanky construction, RTPCR room, two extraction rooms, biomedical waste room, doctor's office, RO Plant, RNA extraction room, cool store, two night duty rooms, staff office, sample reception & decontamination room, doffing, break room, utility service room and three toilets..

The Pediatric ICU is a four-year intensive care unit (ICU) and a high dependency unit under the India COVID-19 Emergency Response and Health System Preparedness Package: Phase-II (ECRP-II package) scheme (HDU) with eight beds.

Portable EEG, Portable X-Ray, 12 Lead Portable ECG, Emergency Cart, Blood Gas Machine, Invasive Ventilator, Portable Suction and several other equipment are installed. One MBBS, six nurses and three attendants have been appointed for duty in the ICU.
