Lunglei Municipal Council (LMC) train candidates and election agents

Lunglei, 16 March (Zoram News): Lunglei Municipal Council (LMC) conducted a training program for candidates and election agents for the upcoming LMC Election 2023 at the Convention Center in Lunglei. The training session was chaired by Pi C. Lalduhzuali, Election Officer, Lunglei, and Pi Ramdinliani, District Municipal Election Officer, Lunglei.

Pi Ramdinliani highlighted that the LMC Election is the first of its kind in the country, and the State Election Commission (SEC) has issued guidelines to ensure a fair and peaceful election. She emphasized that candidates should not exceed the expenditure limit of one lakh rupees and urged citizens to follow the guidelines. She also reminded election agents to adhere to the Model Code of Conduct and refrain from insulting candidates.

The training session covered various topics, including the Model Code of Conduct, candidates and election agents, and expenditure. Pu M. Misael, Project Director, DRDO Lunglei, introduced the Model Code of Conduct, while Pi Melody Ngurthantluangi, SDO (Sadar), Lunglei, provided an overview of candidates and election agents. Pu Vanlalrosiama Ralte, Treasury Officer, Lunglei, gave a presentation on expenditure.

The training session also included a question and answer session to address any queries related to the election.
