MTKP for fair governance in Mizoram

Aizawl, 18 Feb (Zoram News): Mizoram Thalai Kristian Pawl (MTKP) or or Christian Youth Fellowship of the Baptist Church of Mizoram meeting on Wednesday at BCM church, Tuipui D approved that MTKP should take steps to improve justice in Mizoram.

MTKP President Rev. R Lalrochama chaired the meeting. The meeting also approved the resolution 'MTKP should take steps to ensure fair governance in Mizoram' ('Mizoramah tun aia rorelna dik a awm theih nan MTKP in hma la rawh se' ) and was attended by 554 commitee members.

MTKP has 92 pastorate and 429 units. TKP members are 29,105 males and 18,119 females, total TKP members are 47,2 TKP membership increase over 2022 is 2,123

Some of approved agendas includes :

• One fellowship service by each Unit for the Youth Center.
• BCM hospitals should be written in Mizo language as much as possible
• MTKP should provide assistance to the refugees
• Each TKP Unit should organised plastic waste collection at least once.
• MTKP should recommend two aspects of drug education and MTKP should organize training for TKP members to develop themselves.

The establishment of TKP was recognised in 1952 by the Presbytery (now called the Assembly). The objectives of the organisation includes (i) To help the youths to become good Christians. (ii) To train the youths to work for Christ and the Church. (iii) To encourage and guide the youths to be useful for the society. (iv) To help them participate in the extension of God’s kingdom.
