Mizoram Police has advised the people of the state to be careful about falling prey to dubious social media posts and the lure of fraudsters
CPRO John Neihlaia (IGP) on Friday said a man recently put up a social media post that one could earn Rs 50,000 by visiting South Africa once in two months in a group titled 'Hna Ruak Post-na leh Zawnna' (vacant posts and job searchers).

He also claimed that he could arrange passports for those who are interested.

"Some people were cheated like this last year as well. They were sent to South Africa to collect some articles such as books, food supplements and other things. On arrival, they were directed to go back to India," Neihlaia said, adding, it was learnt that heroin and other banned/illegal items were hidden in the items they had brought from South Africa.

Some Mizo youths were caught and sent to jail in South Africa and remain there to date, he said.
