Aizawl, 20th Aug 2020 (Zoram News): The State Government issued an order yesterday for restrictions to regulate inter-state movement of people due to the spike in COVID-19 positive cases.
According to the order, Lengpui Airport and inter-state borders at Kanhmun and Vairengte shall be opened only on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays for entry of persons by flight and passenger vehicles by road respectively from 24.08.2020 until further orders.
The surge in inter-state movement of people due to resumption of economic and livelihood activities has resulted in the spurt of COVID-19 positive cases in Mizoram. Further, the quarantine and healthcare facilities are currently overburdened by the influx of people and the rising positive cases of COVID- 19.
