LESDE and CSCs Collaborate to Register Unorganised Workers for Social Security Schemes
This initiative witnessed the enthusiastic participation of over 3000 individuals. Of these, 1580 eligible unorganised workers were successfully registered on the e-SHRAM Portal. The e-SHRAM Portal, launched by the Ministry of Labour and Employment on 26th August, 2021, serves as a national database for unorganised workers across the country.

The e-SHRAM Portal plays a pivotal role in the delivery of various social security programs and schemes aimed at the welfare of unorganised workers. These schemes include PM-SBY, an insurance scheme covering accidental death and disability, PMJJBY, an insurance scheme for death from any cause, and PM-SYM, a pension scheme designed for unorganised workers, among others. Eligible unorganised workers can conveniently self-register on the portal or visit the Common Service Centres (CSCs) located in all districts, utilizing their Aadhar Card and Bank Passbook for registration.

This collaborative effort between LESDE and CSCs underscores the commitment to extending the benefits of social security schemes to unorganised workers, ensuring a more secure future for them and their families.
