Assam Rifles conducted Rogar Mela for Mizoram

Aizawl, 28 Aug (Zoram News): Battalion of Headquarters Inspector General Assam Rifles (East) conducted the 8th Rozgar Mela on 28 August 2023. A total of 69 individuals benefitted from the same.

The Central Government organized the 8th Job Fair on 28 August 2023. This event, spanning over 25 states and more than 44 locations, saw the distribution of appointment letters to approximately 51,000 young individuals for various Departments of the Indian Government. Notably, the esteemed Honorable Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi presided over the event, delivering an address through live streaming, followed by the distribution of appointment letter to the 69 candidates present on the occasion.

The event was organised by Assam Rifles in Aizawl on behalf of Ministry of Home Affairs. Assam Rifles played a pivotal role in organizing the Rozgar Mela for the state of Mizoram and overseeing the event’s venue coordination. In a special gesture, the Honorable Minister of Minority Affairs, Mr John Barla personally handed over appointment letter to the candidates in the presence of Brigadier Girish Upadhya, SM**, VSM, Deputy Inspector General, Headquarter 23 Sector Assam Rifles, Colonel Mukesh Sauhta, Commandant and officials of Border Security Force, Central Reserve Police Force. This ceremony took place in the esteemed presence of the Honorable Prime Minister, further emphasizing the Government’s commitment to empowering the youth with employment opportunities.

The Rozgar Mela was conducted in Aizawl by Assam Rifles for the second time. In the previous year of 2022, Honourable Minister of State for Consumer Affairs, Food, Public Distribution, Environment, Forest and Climate Change Shri Ashwini Kumar Choubey attended the Rozgar Mela and distributed appointment letters to 79 benefitted candidates on behalf of the Honorable Prime Minister.

The Rozgar Mela is a step towards fulfillment of the duty of Government to accord highest priority to employment generation.
