Assam Rifles Inspector General interacts with CYMA

Aizawl, 18 July (Zoram News): Major General Vinod Kumar Nambiar, YSM, SM, Inspector General of Assam Rifles (East), held a meeting with the Office Bearers of the Central Young Mizo Association (CYMA), led by Pu R Lalngheta, on July 18th at the Headquarters of 23 Sector Assam Rifles.

During the interaction, Major General commended CYMA for their outstanding work and assured them of full support from Assam Rifles as "Friends of the North East." The issue of Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) in Mizoram was brought to the forefront by CYMA. Major General highlighted Assam Rifles' efforts in rescuing stranded Mizoram students in Imphal and their relentless and impartial endeavors to restore normalcy and protect innocent lives in Manipur. He also mentioned the establishment of relief camps in Manipur to aid the affected people.

Regarding the issue of IDPs, the General assured Assam Rifles' assistance to the displaced individuals. The meeting also focused on exploring various avenues of cooperation between Assam Rifles and CYMA.

Major General emphasized the concerning trend of increased smuggling of narcotics and war-like stores, which have a detrimental impact on the people of Mizoram and peace in the state. He highlighted the far-reaching consequences of such activities in the future and called upon the leaders of Mizo society to collaborate closely and support Assam Rifles in their fight against all illegal activities.

Furthermore, he commended the selfless work being carried out by the Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) in Mizoram.

The meeting between Major General Vinod Kumar Nambiar and CYMA signifies a collaborative effort to address pressing issues, ensure the well-being of displaced individuals, and combat illegal activities in Mizoram. Assam Rifles' commitment to maintaining peace and security in the region remains steadfast, with the support and cooperation of organizations like CYMA and CSOs.
