Chief Minister encourages mizo students at HSLC felicitation ceremony

Aizawl, 17 May (Zoram News):  Chief Minister Pu Zoramthanga attended a felicitation ceremony held at Vanapa Hall to honor the top 10 Mizo students in the High School Leaving Certificate (HSLC) examination, announced by the Mizoram Board of School Education (MBSE).

Chief Minister congratulated the HSLC toppers and highlighted the significance of their outstanding achievements. He commended their hard work, dedication, and excellent performance in the examination.

While addressing the gathering, he mentioned that the success of the Mizo students reflects their determination, perseverance, and the quality education provided in Mizoram, which is on par with other states in India. He emphasized that education, discipline, and integrity are essential for personal growth and the progress of society.

Pu Zoramthanga further emphasized the need for students to explore various career opportunities beyond conventional fields and encouraged them to pursue their passions. He emphasized that apart from academic excellence, honing talents and skills is equally important. He mentioned that while higher education in prestigious institutions is desirable, one should not overlook the significance of vocational training and entrepreneurship.

He urged the students to be innovative and highlighted the importance of skills in a rapidly changing world. Chief Minister also expressed his belief that Mizoram has immense potential in sectors such as tourism, sports, and agriculture, which can provide numerous employment opportunities.

Pu Zoramthanga acknowledged the contributions of parents, teachers, and the Mizoram Zirlai Pawl (MZP) in promoting education and fostering a conducive environment for learning. He appreciated their efforts and reiterated the government's commitment to strengthening the education system in the state.

He also mentioned the significance of Mizo identity, culture, and nationalism, emphasizing that the youth should be proud of their roots and contribute to the development of Mizoram. The Chief Minister commended the MZP's initiatives in promoting discipline and patriotism among students, and he encouraged the students to participate in events like 'Zofest' organized by the MZP.

During the felicitation ceremony, the top-ranking students were awarded cash prizes, MZP sashes, MZP badges, the Zofest-2022 souvenir, and a book titled 'Mizo History Khua' authored by Pu Lalhmachhuana Zofa.
