Assam Rifles and Media Houses hold Media Conclave in Aizawl

Aizawl, 2 May (Zoram News): Assam Rifles' 23 Sector conducted a Media Conclave on May 2 in Aizawl to enhance coordination with the civil population of Mizoram.

The event was attended by local and major media representatives from North East, who discussed various agenda points. The DIG emphasized the need for cooperation in eradicating the drug menace and called for joint efforts by the media and Assam Rifles.

Attendees were informed about Assam Rifles' Civic Action programmes worth approximately 50 Lakhs in Mizoram's border areas over the past two years. The conclave also addressed the rising trend of narcotics smuggling and the involvement of Myanmar nationals in illegal activities.

The attendees also discussed emerging security and social challenges due to instability in Myanmar and CHT, Bangladesh, including the influx of illegal immigrants. The issue of immigrants involved in smuggling of drugs and contrabands was also discussed during the conclave.
