Pawl Kut 2023 observed in Aizawl

Aizawl, 20 Jan (Zoram News): The Social Welfare & Tribal Affairs Department organized a celebration of Pawl Kut today at AR Ground, Aizawl. Er Lalrinawma, Minister of Social Welfare & Tribal Affairs graced the inaugural function of the Pawl Kut today as a Father of the Festival; Social Welfare & Tribal Affairs Secretary KT Beicho attended the function as host of the festival.

Addressing the inaugural function, Er Lalrinawma greets the people of Mizoram on this auspicious day. He thanked the people who maintain the culture and society of the mizo, who are promoting folk song and cultural dances. He lauded SW&TA department in collaboration with Art & Culture, Tourism and School Education department for organizing Pawl Kut. It is a remarkable day, he added.

Government of Mizoram is to put more efforts for the unity of the mizos and to protect mizo culture. Various cultural matters of the mizos will be exposed not only in the country but also across the globe.

The Minister said that modernization and development diluted the great culture and tradition of the ancestors. Culture and tradition are dying, the newer generation are now away from that, he said. Because of all these things, Pawl Kut is being observed to maintain the culture and tradition of the
mizos which will be enjoyed by the youth, Er Lalrinawma said.

Pawl Kut is to observe two days including today focussing the students of Middle School and High School organizing mizo cultural games and dances competition.
