Mushroom cultivation training organised for farmers

Aizawl, 16 Jan (Zoram News): Aizawl Battalion under the aegis of Headquarter 23 Sector Assam Rifles and Horticulture Department, Government ofMizoram organized one week Training session on Mushroom Cultivation from 10 Jan 2023 to 16 Jan 2023 and distributed essential items for Mushroom Cultivation to the people of Zokhawsang and Zemabawk villages on 16 Jan 2023. A total of 30 farmers attended and benefitted with the same.

Mushroom Cultivation can directly improve livelihood through economic, nutritional and medicinal contributions. It is not only a cash crop that provides yield within a span of less than a month but is also rich in various vitamins and minerals, a good source of carbohydrates with low to minimal amounts of fat and no starch. The Training also included demonstrations to the villagers for their better comprehension and understanding.

The main aim behind organizing this training camp was to motivate the people of Zokhawsang and Zemabawk villages towards sustainable agriculture and imparting value knowledge.

On the day of culmination of the training essential items for Mushroom Cultivation like Mushroom Spawn, Knife (Dao), Scissors, Silpauline, Rectified Spirit, Paddy Straws etc. were distributed by Colonel Rajesh Kumar Nayak, Commandant 2 Assam Rifles.
