Aizawl, 11 Jan (Zoram News): Information & Public Relations Minister Lalruatkima on Tuesday launched Midday News Bulletin at AIR, Aizawl. The news bulletin will be aired every afternoon at 2:30 pm.
Lalruatkima at the launch program said the programs given in All India Radio Aizawl are beneficial not only for the people of Mizoram but also for Mizos living in other states and the Zo descendants living in Bangladesh and Myanmar.
Till today, All India Radio Aizawl has played an important part in promoting talented youths as radio continues to hold importance and poplarity, among the Mizo public even in the age of social media.
Mangjangam Touthang, IIS also spoke at the program as the Guest of Honor where he encouraged Mizo journlists to work hard in delivering quality news. He also encouraged the Mizo youth to pursue Mass communication.
The Regional News Unit at AIR, Aizawl started functioning in 1975 with one post each of Assistant News Editor, Correspondent and News Reader-cum-Translator sanctioned for the unit. It started with a daily Mizo news bulletin of 5 minutes duration.
The duration was extended to 10 minutes from January 1977.
