Aizawl, 31 July 2021 (Zoram News): The Mizoram Youth Congress Committee demands the exit of Mizo National Front from the North East Democratic Alliance (NEDA), blaming the Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma who is also the convener of NEDA.

The Mizoram Pradesh Youth Congress Committee demands the MNF Party to exit from the North-East Democratic Alliance (NEDA) as Chief Minister of Assam Himanta Biswa Sarma who is also the Convener of this alliance is responsible for Assam’s border disputes with all its neighbouring states.

Mizoram CongressThe party also urged all regional political parties of the North East to exit from NEDA that was formed on May 24, 2016 on the pretext of better cooperation and developmental works of the Northeastern states, but today stands exposed only as a formation to grab power by any means necessary by the BJP led National Democratic Alliance. The Chief Minister of Assam Shri. Himanta Biswa Sarma who is also the convener of NEDA is responsible for the disruption of peace in the Northeastern states.

As published in December 15, 2018 edition of the Economic Times ‘Chief Minister Zoramthanga, who joined NEDA on 2018 said that though MNF party does not follow the ideology of NEDA, the party has decided to remain in the alliance.’

The Mizoram Youth Congress demands that if MNF does not follow the ideology of NEDA, Chief Minister Zoramthanga should have the courage to exit the alliance for the sake of the Mizo people, and also revoke their support for CAA (Citizenship Amendment Act) . Assam’s aggressions with its neighbouring states are the results of CAA and NRC.
