EEI Jorhat and MAMETI jointly organized 4-day training in Aizawl

Aizawl, Jan 19: Extension Education Institute (EEI), North East Region, Assam Agriculture University, Jorhat and Mizoram Agricultural Management & Extension Training Institute (MAMETI), Directorate of Agriculture jointly organized a 4-day training here for Agricultural Management Technology Agency (ATMA) Deputy Project Directors, Block Technology Managers besides workers of Agriculture and Allied Department – AH & Vety, Horticulture, Fishery, Sericulture, Soil & Water Conservation and KVK.

Dr. C. Lalzarliana, State Nodal Officer, ATMA & Director of Agriculture (Crop Husbandry) inaugurated the training yesterday at Agriculture Committee Room, Directorate of Agriculture.

It is thankful that EEI has organized the training while State Departments cannot organize trainings as much as desired, Dr. C. Lalzarliana said while inaugurating the training.

He invited more training of the same kind in the future and added that Agriculture and various Line Departments ought to work together and for that Agricultural Technology Management Agency (ATMA) is a good platform, he said.

Dr. S. Borua, Assistant Professor, EEI, who came all the way from Extension Education Institute, Jorhat for the Off-Campus Training also addressed the training inauguration porgramme said that in today’s technology world, the Media becomes the most convenient means by which the farmers can learn and communicate easily and that the Central government also gives utmost importance to the same.

The Training Programme is organized for 30 people and during the training experts from EEI, Jorhat will give instruction to the selected participants based on the theme of “Farm Journalism and Mass Media Production in Agricultural Extension”.
