Aizawl, Jan 10: As many as 45 people have been killed in fire during 7 years since 2009, Fire & Emergency Service officials said.
As per the data recorded by Fire & Emergency Service, 5 people have been killed in fire and properties worth over Rs. 1.2 crore were damaged by fire during 2015, while there were occurrences of 41 house fire and 126 forest fire during the same year.
The occurrence of fire during 2009 – 2015 was most frequent in 2012 during which properties worth Rs 1860.68 have been damaged, while the largest number of death due to fire during 7 years was in 2011 and 12 people have been killed during this year, Fire & Emergency Service officials said.
