In his address, the Chief Minister emphasized that the defining characteristics of a tribe, such as language, songs, dances, traditions, and way of life, are gifts from God. He stressed the importance of preserving these cultural elements, warning that without them, a tribe loses its identity. He also touched upon the influence of Christianity, noting that many aspects of Mizo culture, such as traditional songs, drumming in churches, and customary dances, had been sidelined in religious settings. However, he pointed out that these aspects have since been revived, with Mizo identity finding its place within Christian beliefs. The Chief Minister encouraged participants to continue promoting Mizo culture and traditions while harmonizing it with their Christian faith, observing that such a blend can lead to a stronger identity.

The Chief Minister also highlighted the growing international recognition of Mizo culture, referencing a performance of Cheraw (the bamboo dance) in Istanbul, which drew widespread admiration. He urged YMA members and other cultural groups to take pride in their heritage and continue showcasing Mizo customs on global platforms.

Special guest Pu C. Lalsawivunga echoed similar sentiments, encouraging participants to strive for progress while preserving their cultural heritage. He underscored the need for a careful balance between modern development and maintaining the distinct values of Mizo identity. He applauded the cultural achievements of the Mizo people, both locally and globally.

The event was chaired by Pi Carol VLMS Dawngkimi, Director of Art & Culture, with speeches by Central YMA President Pu Lalhmachhuana and a report presented by Pu C. Lalthlamuana, Secretary of the Cultural Sub Committee.
