H. Lalthianghlima, President of Mizo Zirlai Pawl (MZP), has criticized the National Institute of Technology (NIT) Mizoram, alleging lapses in proper procedures during staff recruitment at the prestigious institution
Lalthianghlima highlighted a lack of transparency, stating that when queries were raised through the Right to Information (RTI) channel, the institute failed to provide a satisfactory response. This, according to him, reflects inefficiencies within the administration of the institute.

Expressing dissatisfaction, Lalthianghlima drew attention to the absence of a permanent campus for NIT Mizoram, even after 11 years since the laying of the foundation stone in October 2012 by the then Minister for Human Resource Development, Kapil Sibal.

The MZP President further voiced concerns about the subpar infrastructure and facilities at NIT Mizoram, asserting that insufficient resources are adversely affecting the academic experience of students.

As of now, NIT Mizoram offers programs in Chemistry, Civil Engineering, Computer Science and Engineering, Electronics and Communication Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Physics, Mathematics, and Humanities and Social Science.
