Mizoram government takes steps to evacuate stranded people from violence-hit Manipur

Aizawl, 5 May (Zoram News): Chief Minister Pu Zoramthanga  has announced that his government is taking steps to evacuate people stranded in Manipur following the recent outbreak of violence.

He has also assured the safety of people from Manipur residing in Mizoram. The Mizoram government is currently making efforts to charter flights to evacuate students and employees stranded in Manipur. Zoramthanga has urged the Manipur and central governments to take necessary measures to end the ongoing mob violence in the northeastern state.

The Mizoram home department has assured safety for the Meiteis community living in the state, who are the majority community residing in the valley areas of Manipur. It has also activated helpline numbers for residents of Mizoram stranded in Manipur.
