Meeting of Kolasib District level commitee on disability held

Aizawl, 3 May (Zoram News): A committee to implement the ‘Rights of Persons with Disability Act 2016’ was held today at DRDO Conference Hall, Kolasib, which was chaired by Mr. John LT Sanga, Deputy Commissioner.

Provisions under the Rights of Persons with Disability Act 2016 was discussed and plan for implementing these provisions were made today. It was also pointed out that, though only 49 beneficiaries were allotted under National Social Assistance Program in the district, 127 applications was received.

The meeting also discussed on making Government Offices, Medical Institution, Churches and Schools to be made more accessible for the disable citizen and to make reservations in the implementation of social security schemes and job recruitment.
