Aizawl, 30 March (Zoram News): A symposium on Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) was held yesterday at Vanapa Hall in Aizawl, organized by the Sustainable Development Goals Coordination Centre of the Planning & Programme Implementation Department

A symposium on Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) was held yesterday at Vanapa Hall in Aizawl, organized by the Sustainable Development Goals Coordination Centre of the Planning & Programme Implementation Department

The event was focused on SDG 17 and Theme 9, with Secretary to the Govt. of Mizoram, Planning Department, Pu Lalmalsawma Pachuau, presiding over the proceedings.

The program included a Local Immersion Program for Higher Educational Institutes, in which 21 colleges from across Mizoram adopted a village and conducted local immersion programs. The aim was to encourage students to undertake projects and promote sustainable development in their adopted villages. Participating colleges were given a sum of money for their project implementation.

The Planning Department emphasized the importance of SDGs for Mizoram's development and provided guidance on how to incorporate them in their projects.
