Chief Minister attended Ayushman Sangam - North Eastern Regional Review Meeting

Aizawl, 16 March(Zoram News): Chief Minister  Pu Zoramthanga, attended the two-day Ayushman Sangam - North Eastern Regional Review Meeting, organized by the Mizoram State Health Care Society. The meeting, held at Aijal Club, was aimed at reviewing the implementation of the Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (AB PM-JAY) in the northeast region of India.

Representatives from each Northeast state were in attendance, and the Chief Minister emphasized the importance of health for human development and the progress of the country. He stated that the meeting was expected to improve the implementation of the central government's health care scheme AB PM-JAY in the northeast region. The Chief Minister also highlighted that Mizoram had its own state health care scheme, which would be implemented alongside the central government's scheme to provide modern and comprehensive healthcare services.

The meeting was opened by the H&FW Dept. Principal Secretary, Pi Esther Lalruatkimi, and NHA CEO, Pu S. Gopalakrishnan, who urged states to take action to implement the scheme. NHA Addl. CEO, Dr. Basant Garg, gave a presentation on PM-JAY, and Biakthansangi introduced the program.

Currently, Mizoram has 2,16,584 registered beneficiaries under AB PMJAY. Assam, Meghalaya, and Nagaland have implemented PM-JAY in conjunction with their state health care schemes, while Sikkim and Tripura do not have separate state health care schemes.

The meeting focused on reviewing AB PM-JAY fund spending and activities in each state. The discussions and exchanges will continue on March 17, and important field visits will also be held.
