Mizoram to get northeast's first motor racing track

Aizawl, 13 Feb (Zoram News): Mizoram will soon be the home to Northeast India's first racing track and sports complex at Lengpui.

An agreement has been signed between the Mizoram State Sports Council and the Rural Electrification Corporation (REC) for the construction of the same. This was informed by Mizoram Sports Minister Robert Romawia Royte.

"Happy to witness signing of Agreement between the Mizoram State Sports Council and the Rural Electrification Corporation(REC) for construction of REC Motosports Racing Tract and Sports Complex at Lengpui,Mizoram. The racing tract will be the first of its kind in Eastern India," tweeted Royte.

As per reports, the track will be constructed at a cost of Rupees 10 crore near the Lengpui Airport.
