Governor flags off students for exchange visit of students

 Aizawl, 27 Feb (Zoram News): Governor Hari Babu Kambhampati flagged off 25 students and 4 faculty members of NIT Mizoram and Government Aizawl North College(GANG) to participate in the traditional, cultural and technological programs in IIM, Rohtak, Haryana.

The Exchange Visit of Students between the North Eastern and other states under Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat North East Yuva Sangam is now mobilized, 18 students and 2 teachers from IIM, Mizoram and 7 students and two teachers from GANC are selected to participate in this program at IIM, Rohtak. NIT Mizoram is paired with IIM, Rohtak in the said program.

Before the flag-off, a short interaction program was organized at the lawn courtyard of Raj Bhavan. During this program, Governor interacted with the faculty of NIT, GANC and the students. He shared how he once participated as a student in this kind of exchange program and how he gained valuable insights into other cultures and useful experiences from his participation with the students.

He shared his appreciation of this unifying initiative of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi which he believed would be very fruitful for cementing the bond between the northeast and the rest of India. He congratulated the selected students for getting the opportunity to participate in the national integration program and knowledge and skill-enhancing exercises, he wished them to make the most out of their tentative programs at IIM, Rohtak

The main objective of the exchange program is to strengthen people-to-people connections and build empathy between the youth of the North Eastern States and other States. The Yuva Sangam will focus on conducting exposure tours of youth comprising of students & off-campus youngsters from North Eastern States to other states & vice versa.

It will provide an immersive, multidimensional experience of various facets-under four broad areas of Paryatan (Tourism), Parampara (Traditions), Pragati (Development) and Paraspar Sampark (People-to-people connect).
