Felicitation ceremony for selected Agniveer scheme in Aizawl

Aizawl, 18 Feb (Zoram News): The Aizawl Battalion of Headquarters 23 Sector Assam Rifles, under the aegis of Headquarters Inspector General Assam Rifles (East), carried out a felicitation ceremony on Friday for the young boys of Aizawl who have finally cleared the written exam of the Agniveer Scheme under the General Duty category.

It is pertinent to know that the Assam Rifles conducted pre-recruitment training for physical and written exams for aspirants from different villages in Aizawl from October 25, 2022, to January 7, 2023, at Zokhawsang.

After completing preliminary documentation at the Army Recruitment Office in Aizawl, individuals will report to the Assam Regiment Center in Shillong, Meghalaya, and the Armoured Corporation Center in Ahmednagar, Maharashtra, on February 24 for basic military training, stated a press release.

The local people express their profound gratitude to the Assam Rifles for conducting such important prerecruitment traimning which facilitates the career opportunities for the youth in Armed Forces.

Agniveers will be the name given to the young people selected for the Agneepath initiative. After four years, agniveers will be given the chance to apply for permanent enlistment in the armed forces.

Young people between the ages of 17.5 and 23 (revised upper age limit) who value patriotism, teamwork, improving physical fitness, ingrained loyalty to the nation, and the availability of trained personnel to strengthen national security in times of external threats, internal threats, and natural disasters are encouraged to apply through the Agneepath Yojna to become Agniveers.
