Aizawl, 14 March 2021( NE Now): With COVID-19 positive cases across the Country on the rise, the intercontinental title clash of LPS Fight Night to be held in Mizoram has been postponed.
The LPS Fight Night intercontinental title clash, which was scheduled to be held on May 7, has been postponed by the organisers in view of the rising COVID-19 cases in the State.
Mizoram’s COVID-19 tally rose to 4,685 on Wednesday as 30 more people tested positive for the infection.
Of the new cases, 25 were reported from Aizawl district, three from Kolasib and two from Serchhip.
Twenty new patients have travel history, a Mizoram Health Department official informed.
Mizoram now has 204 active cases. The COVID-19 death toll in the State stands at 12.
The ‘LPS Fight Night’ is a boxing event organised by Grassroot Boxing Promotions, a Kolkata based grassroots boxing promotion and management group and LPS Vision Production.
On March 6, Indian boxer Lalrinsanga Tlau from Mizoram clinched the World Boxing Council (WBC) youth world super featherweight title by defeating Ghana’s Eric Quarm in an eight-round contest held in Aizawl.
