Aizawl DC for recruiting more vaccinators in coming days

Aizawl, the 14th April 2021: To review the ongoing Covid 19 vaccinations and to assess the preparation for bigger vaccination drives when the next batch of vaccine arrives for Aizawl District, Dr Lalhriatzuali Ralte, Deputy Commissioner convened important meeting at the DC’s Conference Hall, last evening.

The meeting began with the briefing on the current vaccination drive from the State Immunization Officer (SIO), District Immunization Officer (DIO) - Aizawl West and East. Based on the report, there are presently 13 session sites for administering the Covid 19 vaccines within the Aizawl Municipal Corporation (AMC) area while the vaccination in areas beyond the AMC was being taken up under the supervision from the Medical Officers in PHCs and CHCs. The current stock of vaccine is estimated to last till today with the requirement of 2 lakh doses for the month of April is being already submitted to the Ministry.

During this discussion, Dr Lalhriatzuali Ralte, Deputy Commissioner had expressed her deep appreciation for all the hard works performed by understaffed Covid vaccination teams and those medical officials involved at the state level. With 2 lakhs doses expected to arrive soon, she explained the need for recruiting more vaccinators and arrangement of more session sites within several parts of the city as soon as possible. She had called for better coordination between the state immunization authorities and the AMC on this critical task. She had also requested continuing support and cooperation from the local NGOs, Village Councils and Local Councils where the session sites are set up for this vaccination drive.
