Lunglei, 20 March (Zoram News): The Lunglei District Disaster Management Authority, chaired by Lunglei DC Pu R. Vanrengpuia held a meeting at the DC Conference Hall today to discuss preparedness to combat Coronavirus and to finalize Quarantine Facilities and Isolation Wards within the District.
The Central Government, keeping in view the spread of COVID-19 virus in India and the declaration of COVID-19 as pandemic by the World Health Organization (WHO), by way of a special one time dispensation had on 14th March, 2020 decided to treat COVID-19 as a notified disaster for the purpose of providing assistance under SDRF. In line with the Central Government’s decision, the meeting today drew up a list of requirements of the District for combating Coronavirus, especially for setting up Quarantine Facilities and Isolation Wards within the District.
The DDMA finalized on five Quarantine facilities within the District as below:
