Champhai, 9 March (Zoram News): A district level meeting on the progress and future plan on precautionary measures taken regarding Novel Corona Virus was held last friday at Champhai Circuit House, presided over by Dr. ZR Thiamsanga, Champhai North MLA and Vice Chairman, Health & Family Welfare Board , Government of Mizoram.
The meeting decided to conduct a join team spot visit to Zokhawthar, Indo Myanmar town on March 9, 2020. Random checking by Assam Rifles and State police personnels, extensive mass awareness campaign to people especially border Villages, sensitising NGO's, stakeholders and Media. Also the meeting stressed the drastic need to enforce man power to handle 24×7 medical duties at border. Live Cable TV show and working in close relationship with the State nodal department.
Dr. Samuel Laldinthara, MO, IDSP, District Hospital, Champhai reported that 379 Medical Screenings had been conducted and no suspect is detected till date. Deputy Commissioner Pu SL Naveen, Dr. R. Lalawmpuia, CMO Champhai and representative from Assam Rifles also expressed their roles and urged to maintain proper collaboration and vigilance on border activities.
