Mizoram produces 9145 MT oil palm

Aizawl, Apr 19 (UNI) Mizoram has produced 9145.586 metric tonnes of oil palm and earned a revenue of Rs over 455.67 lakh.


Oil palm cultivation introduced in 2008, is being carried out in seven districts – Aizawl, Kolasib, Lawngtlai, Lunglei, Mamit, Serchhip and Saiha on 23,358 hectares of land.


This was reported in the 12th meeting of Mizoram Oil Palm Advisory Committee, chaired by Parliamentary Secretary for Agriculture Lt Col (Rtd) Z S Zuala at the agriculture department committee room, here today.
