Aizawl, 14 March: Mizoram got the top rank among small states (with population less than 2 crores) in Public Affairs Index (PAI) in Governance in a survey by Bengaluru based think tank Public Affairs Centre (PAC).
The survey which was based on 10 themes, 25 focus subjects and 68 indicators ranked the states in various categories including providing of adequate and effective social protection for its citizen, transparency, public accountability, environment, women and child safety, crime, maintainence of law and order and infrastructure.
PAI is an attempt to bring the states of India in a common data driven framework to facilitate comparision, whereby ranking in Governance would highlight the issues a state lags behind and a road map for development and solution of issues could be chalked out.
