Mizoram beat Gujarat in sub-junior Women National Hockey Championship

Nagaon, Assam: The day 4 at the 6th Hockey India Sub Junior Women National Championship 2016 (B Division) saw Hockey Mizoram and Hockey Madhya Pradesh dominate the days’ proceedings. The first match in Pool B between Hockey Gujarat and Hockey Mizoram ended with the latter winning by a margin of 0-10. The second match of the day in Pool C saw Hockey Madhya Pradesh defeating Hockey Jammu & Kashmir by 5-0.

The first match between Hockey Gujarat and Hockey Mizoram started with the latter dominating the game right from the beginning. They were awarded with a penalty corner in the 8th minute of the match and it was successfully converted by Lalremsiami. The first goal was only the beginning of what was to come. Hockey Mizoram soon scored again in the 17th minute and the goal fest continued till the 61st minute. The game finished with a score 0-10 in favour of Mizoram.

The second match of the day saw the domination of the Hockey Madhya Pradesh team over Hockey Jammu & Kashmir. The first goal was scored in the 5th Minute from the stick of Renu Pasi. The Madhya Pradesh team continued the scoring streak pressing hard in both the halves. The match ended at 5-0 to the delight of the Madhya Pradesh team.
