New Mizoram DGP calls on Governor

Aizawl, 5 June (Zoram News): Mizoram's newly appointed Director General of Police (DGP), Shri Anil Shukla, IPS, paid a courtesy visit to Governor Dr Hari Babu Kambhampati at Raj Bhavan today. The meeting was focused on establishing a positive working relationship between the state police and the governor's office.

Governor Dr Hari Babu Kambhampati warmly welcomed Shri Anil Shukla as the new DGP of Mizoram and encouraged him to utilize his extensive experience gained throughout his illustrious career for the betterment of the state's law enforcement. The governor acknowledged Shukla's background, posting history, and expertise, setting a promising tone for their future collaboration.

During the meeting, Shri Anil Shukla shared his initial observations on the performance of the Mizoram Police in maintaining law and order. He also highlighted areas where improvements could be made and addressed pressing issues such as drug trafficking and burglary. By voicing these concerns, the new DGP demonstrated his commitment to enhancing the effectiveness of the state's police force.

Shri Anil Shukla, an IPS officer from the 1996 AGMU Cadre, brings a wealth of experience and accolades to his new role. His educational background includes a degree in Civil Engineering, a Post-Graduation in Police Management, and a Masters in Public Policy & Management. Prior to his appointment as DGP in Mizoram, he served as the Additional Director General of Police (ADGP) in the Andaman and Nicobar Islands.

Throughout his career, Shri Anil Shukla has been recognized with numerous prestigious national and international awards for his unwavering dedication to his profession. Notably, during his six-year tenure as Inspector General at the National Investigation Agency (NIA) from 2015 to April 2021, he played a pivotal role in investigating high-profile cases. Shukla successfully solved and charge-sheeted the Pulwama Terror attack case on CRPF, apprehended and charge-sheeted prominent Hurriyat leaders involved in terror funding, and conducted investigations into the LOC Trade case, uncovering the nexus between narcotics, arms, and terror funding. Furthermore, he played a vital role in solving the explosives case near Antilia (commonly referred to as the Sachin Waze Case) in Mumbai.

With Shri Anil Shukla's extensive experience and dedication to public service, his appointment as the new DGP of Mizoram holds great promise for the state's law enforcement efforts. Under his leadership, it is expected that the Mizoram Police will strive for improved performance and diligently address various challenges to maintain peace and security within the state.
