Assam Rifles observe National Safe Motherhood Day

 Aizawl, 12 April (Zoram News): Aizawl Battalion under the aegis of Headquarter 23 Sector Assam Rifles and Headquarters Inspector General Assam Rifles (East) carried out “Distribution of Essential commodities to carrying/lactating mothers on the occasion of National Safe Motherhood day” at Zokhawsang, Hnahlan, Mimbung and Ngopa Company Operating Base on 11 April 2023. A total of 32 civilians and 13 troops were attended the same.

National Safe Motherhood Day is observed on 11 April every year with the objective of promoting the well-being and safety of mothers and expectant mothers by increasing awareness of proper healthcare. This initiative, launched by the Indian Government aims to decrease the number of maternal and neonatal death.

The main objective of National Safe Motherhood Day is to raise awareness of the crucial role of maternal health and the necessity for proper medical care throughout pregnancy and postpartum. The day serves as a reminder to both the Government and society to prioritize the health and safety of mother and their newborns..

The civil population expressed profound gratitude to the Assam Rifles for undertaking such an initiative and appreciate the continuous efforts and commitments of the force in reaching out to them.
