Mizoram spend more than forty-one millions for refugees

Aizawl, 19 Feb (Zoram News): Home Minister Lalchamliana in reply to Aizawl North I MLA Vanlalhlana's question during the Assembly Budget Session said that there were 31,508 to 31,050 refugees from Myanmar and 458 from Bangladesh as per the government record.

Mizoram government has allocated Rs. 3,84,66,000  for Myanmar refugees and Rs. 30,00,000 for refugees from Bangladesh. The allocated Rs. 4,14,66,000 was already spent to build temporary shelters, buy food, drinking water, medicines, clothing and bedding and other necessities.

The refugees have walked theough the most rugged mountains and jungle terrains in the world. Fording deep, fast flowing rivers, most with just the clothes they are wearing, the refugees, including old people and small children.
