Health Minister visits Aids Healthcare Foundation International Headquarters

Aizawl, 10 Jan (Zoram News):  Responding to an invitation from the AIDS Healthcare Foundation (AHF) International Headquarters, Global Office & Corporate Headquarters, Los Angeles, USA, Dr R. Lalthangliana, Health Minister visited the AHF International & Corporate office for a meeting.

In March of last year, the AHF Global leaders had communicated to Dr. R Lalthangliana that they wished to extend their help in the fight against HIV/AIDS in Mizoram.

A letter of agreement had been signed between Zoram Medical College (ZMC) and AHF Global Headquarters representatives on September 27, 2022 .

The meeting saw the presence of International President Michael Weinstein and his colleagues, Chief of Global Advocacy & Policy Terri Ford, Chief Financial Officer Lyle Honig Mojica, Director of Global Advocacy & Media Sal Gullen, Director of Global Financial Operations. Important issues were discussed including the need to follow up on the letter of agreement signed by Mizoram and AHF. The need to provide technical support to Mizoram and to develop meaningful strategies and approaches to address the issue.

As per the letter of agreement, the aim is to wipe out the AIDS epidemic in Mizoram by 2030, it was agreed that strong initiatives should be taken in this regard.
