Three day Mizoram assembly adjourned sine die

Aizawl, 9 Sept (ZoramNews): The three-day autumn session of the Mizoram legislative assembly, was adjourned sine die on Thursday. Speaker Lalrinliana Sailo announced the sine die adjournment in the evening after giving a brief report on the proceedings of the session, which commenced on Tuesday.

Two government bills – the Mizoram Goods and Service Taxes (Amendment) Bill 2022 and The Mizoram (Land Revenue) (Amendment) Bill, 2022, introduced by Taxation Minister Lalchamliana and Land Revenue and Settlement Minister Lalruakima respectively were passed during the session.

According to Sailo, the assembly received 188 starred questions and 104 unstarred questions. Of the 188 starred questions, 184 were admitted while 60 questions were placed in the business list and 13 questions were answered during the session, he said.


At least 14 papers, state finance audit report on the Comptroller and Auditor General (CAG) of India for the year ended 31 March 2021. Mizoram has implemented the National eVidhan application from the autumn session.

Sailo lauded the members for maintaining a friendly environment and decorum in the house and urged them to sustain the charismatic culture, which according to him, has been admired by other states. He also thanked officials and police for their support during the session.
