Chief Secretary visits FCI Godowns

Aizawl, 24 Sept (ZoramNews): Dr Renu Sharma, Chief Secretary of Mizoram yesterday visited Food Corporation of India (FCI) Godown in Tanhril, Govt. Muanna Godown, some Fair Price Shops in Muanna veng and Zuangtui.

Dr Renu Sharma, Chief Secretary of Mizoram yesterday visited Food Corporation of India (FCI) Godown in Tanhril, Govt. Muanna Godown, some Fair Price Shops in Muanna veng and Zuangtui.

The Chief Secretary was accompanied by FCS&CA Secretary Ramdinliani, MCS and FCS&CA Director Dr Andrew H. Vanlaldika, MCS. On her first leg, the Chief Secretary visited FCI Godown, Tanhril. She interacted with the store keeper in the godown. The Chief Secretary was told various problems regarding irregular supply of rice.

FCI godown, a capacity of 5742 metric ton of rice was inaugurated in 1998. The godown will be shifted in Sairang, the construction of the godown building, a capacity of 10000 metric tron is being processed, officials in the Tanhril godown said.

The Chief Secretary also visited the Supply department site office near the FCI godown. Dr Renu Sharma also visited the Supply Department godown in Muanna veng yesterday which was constructed in 1986. She inspected the stock of rice and proposed the installation of a digital weighbridge. She also asked about the function of the Muanna godown.

The Chief Secretary also visited Govt. Fair Price Shops in Muanna veng and Zuangtui, she inspected the distribution process and the function of the Fair Price Shop. The Chief Secretary was satisfied with the distribution of rice through the Fair Price Shop, the official sources said.
