District level task force meeting held at Lawngtlai

Lawngtlai, the 25th May, 2021: A meeting of District Level Task Force on COVID-19 (DLTF), Lawngtlai District chaired by Deputy Commissioner Dr Andrew H. Vanlaldika was held today at DC's Conference Hall, Lawngtlai.

The Chairman, Dr Andrew H. Vanlaldika reiterated the need of strict and careful implementation of instructions and guidelines issued by the government for containment and prevention of COVID-19 pandemic. He urged the citizens to follow the SOPs and COVID-19 Appropriate Behaviour at all times for their own and the District's safety.

Member Secretary of the DLTF, Dr LP Malsawma, Chief Medical Officer gave a brief status report on COVID-19 situation within Lawngtlai District. He highlighted that arrangement was made for 275 capacity Covid Care Centres (CCCs), 230 capacity Community Covid Care Centres (4Cs) and 5-bedded Dedicated Covid Health Centre (DCHC) within Lawngtlai District. As per his report, currently there are a total of 100 COVID-19 active cases within Lawngtlai District being treated in CCCs, 4Cs and Home Isolation.

The meeting discussed matters relating to lockdown and addressed certain issues for better and successful implementation of the said lockdown within the District.

It was reported in the meeting that Rs 2,50,000/- (Rupees two lakh fifty thousand) was received from Chief Minister's Relief Fund for COVID-19 by Lawngtlai District as immediate relief to families affected by the ongoing lockdown. Apart from this, District Level Task Force on COVID-19 has received Rs 5,000/- (Rupees five thousand) from Zoram Drivers Union (ZDU), Sub-Headquarters Lawngtlai, Rs 1,00,000/- (Rupees one lakh) from Ngurnunsangi English School Alumni (NESA) and Rs 1,10,000/- (Rupees one lakh ten thousand) from Officers' Club Lawngtlai (OCL) recently for use in the fight against COVID-19 in Lawngtlai District.
