World Hearing Day observed at Champhai

Champhai, 3 March (Zoram News): National Programme for Prevention and Control of Deafness (NPPCF) today organized World Hearing Day under the theme 'Hearing Care for All- Screen, Rehabilitate, Communicate' at District Hospital OPD Complex, Champhai.

Dr. Zatluanga DMS Champhai  presided the function wherein  Dr.Lalramengi, ENT Surgeon explained the theme 'Hearing Care For All- Screen, Rehabilitate, Communicate' and stressed the importance of ears, precautionary measures and urged the gatherings not to be reluctant to use ear aids if necessary.


Pi Mimi R. Laltlanhlui, Audiologist gave brief reports on National Programme for Prevention and Control of Deafness. According to her, in between 2019 to February 2021, NPPCF treated  4957 patients, of which 1783 were having hearing  impairments, 585 of them were totally deaf and 216 were prescribed to use hearing aids and devices.

Pi Lalnunmawii, Audiometric Assistant proposed vote of thanks which was followed by Free Hearing Screening Camp.
