Power tariff hike proposed in Mizoram

Aizawl,  February 29, 2020 (NE Now): The Joint Electricity Regulatory Commission (JERC) for the Mizoram and Manipur has decided to hike power tariff for Mizoram, which will come into effect from April 1.

A public hearing was held by the JERC on Friday in Aizawl following the decision of state advisory committee to hike power tariff.

On Thursday the state advisory committee held a meeting with major NGOs of the state and agreed to hike power tariff.

The meeting was attended by Central Young Mizo Association (CYMA), All Mizoram Farmers’ Union (AMFU), Mizoram Upa Pawl (MUP) and Mizoram Consumers’ Union (MCU).

The meeting agreed to hike power tariff for the next fiscal 2020-2021 at a reasonable rate.
