BSF and BGB meet to augment bilateral relation and friendship

Aizawl, Jan 11: Sector Commander level border coordination meeting between BSF and Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) was today held at Tlabung (Demagiri) in Mizoram- Bangladesh border to sort out differences and augment bilateral relation and the level of friendship maintained by the two border guarding forces.

The meeting was held under a very cordial atmosphere, BSF sources said.

The BGB delegation was led by Sector Commander of Rangamati, Col Soukat Osman along with two other Sector Commanders and Commanding Officers of 19,22,25,37 and 53 BGB battalions and four other officers. While from the Indian side Brig UPS Pathania (Retd) Sector Commander, Sector Headquarter BSF Aizawl, Commandants from 99, 148 , 166, 181 Bn BSF and other officers attended the meeting.

The meeting stressed on prevention of illegal crossing of International Borders, border trade , prevention of smuggling, confidence building measures, etc. Special attention was called for curbing anti-national activities of both countries and preventing misuse of each other soil by Indian insurgent group in Bangladesh or Bangladesh insurgent group in India.

A beautiful showcase of cultural dance-Cheraw (bamboo dance) by Tlabung Young Mizo boys and girls, Chakma traditional dance by YCA, and Bihu dance by Young Pahari Association Tlabung were held on the occasion.
